Those are cool sheets. Used to buy them along with their sports car number sheets with the white circles and the old stick on license plate sheets. _________________ Forum member since 10/25/2010 |

Back in the day Auto World decals were some of the few after-market decals avail. I had this sheet & several sheets of numbers etc. Their catalogs were great too. In later years carried a lot of different modeling kits, decals, accessories. i looked forward to their new catalogs as my kids did to the Sears Christmas Wish Book LOL

Yep, that brings back some memories. I was exposed to 1/24th slot cars as a kid before I ever owned a model kit and it was these exact sheets that made me realize that I preferred dressing and detailing the bodies to actually racing the cars around. To this day I have a TON of H.O. slot car stuff and again, I probably enjoy working with the 1/64th bodies and the decals available for them more than any aspect of it.

A lot of people, don't remember that Auto World also has a bicycle parts section in their catalog too!
As a kid I customized my bike and several for other kids out of there! |

The small TV Guide sized catalogs were great. You could hide them inside your textbooks and read them during class! _________________ Forum member since 10/25/2010 |

Funny thing is...I ordered my first AW catalog from a bookseller that sold to our school through mail order pamphlets that the teachers handed out to the studentsl. So that makes Sister Mary Edmund partly responsible for starting me on all this... _________________ Bill Jobson is my real name. |

Remember when Auto World would send Auto World logo decals with each order......Still have a few builds left from back then that sport some of those decals. Not sure if any of the unused decals survived the purges through the years.....
Marty, checked out those old Auto World catalogs you have posted in the link you provided....Not sure when I bought my first one.....or what release where I bought the 2 kits to create my 1st true kitbash...... _________________ Ed. K |

Auto World's " showroom " was just a few blocks from my Grandma's house, on Keyser Ave. in Scranton, PA. |

Miss that place. When visiting, always hopeful to find something new there...and possibly catching one of Oscar's 1:1 racers outside! _________________ Forum member since 10/25/2010 |

as a kid that would have been like having a grandmother that lived at the North Pole - where they kept models and slot cars....
