Car & track ower Pat Patrick. Loved racing almost as much as food. When his driver
won the feature he was awarded $130. If LeeRoy Yarbrough was the winner that was
only worth $90 & usually resulted in a fight. LeeRoy was a roughneck & not very good
with his fists !!!!
Fun days gone forever...
One of many cars owned & sponsored by Pat Patrick. Generally these #16
Cars were painted black or white. While the b/w picture would suggest black,
It’s possible this car was actually painted dark red. My memory seeing the 16
race was black.
Pat at his drive inn surrounded by his lovely staff
Pat passing out the trophies at the track he owned. LeeRoy
Yarbrough holding trophy (white sweat shirt).
A "skinny" Pat. Ran and sponsored cars on the Daytona beach/road course.
Didn't end well for the 16. That's the third/fourth turn at the old Speedway Park
in Jacksonville .Very common for that fence to be knocked
down and nailed back up after every race.

Trivial but true. Pat had a son that went to Forrest Highschool with my older sister.
He was tall and skinny and came over on to our house in Jacksonville. My sister was
very attractive !!!
