I certainly hope we get some resin bodies so we can build variations depending on our local short track

Who is producing this kit? First I've heard of it. |

Salvino's but last time I spoke with them he told me he was still undecided because he worries about not
selling enough to fully cover the cost involved to make the tool and cover a minimum run of 3-4 different versions and it is a generic kit of a car a lot of nascar builders have little or no interest in. I told him I think people will buy 2-3 to start with an more as resin body options happen and after market decals are done. I really think it is going sell out FAST... |

Wonder if Salvino's would even be interested in doing an IMCA style modified. FAR more of these racing out there....From the West Coast to the middle part of the country.
When I talked to a builder/owner/driver around 6 or 7 years ago about seeing if he would be interested in having a model company creating a kit from his plans, he did not hesitate to say "yes". Contacted Ed Sexton at Revell, but he did not sound enthusiastic. Have a feeling that he knew Revell was in trouble..
Don't know if it still operational or not, have not check on the site, but there was a traveling group called USMTS, US Modified Touring Series.
There are even drivers who come back to the Mid-West from AZ & CA for the summer racing season just so they can race more than once a week. Know of tracks in my area that run on Wed, Thurs, Fri., and Sat, Used to be a track or 2 that raced on Sun nights, but not sure if they are still running or not. Most take up residence in the local areas for a base while they are back here. _________________ Ed. K |

Well, I'd really only want one of them, I have more than enough Nascar kits that I'll never build. |

I would buy at least 2 to start out with. This is something I've wanted to see for a long time. _________________ |

Kind of a funny idea as almost ALL modern NASCAR cars are "generic", if not identical! I'll buy a dozen or more if bodies/decals become available! |

For me it will be a good starting point for "outlaw Figure 8" cars. I'll have to slab side some body panels but I'm willing to give it a go...... _________________ Dennis

My local track runs two divisions of these type cars and always has a full field for both every Saturday night. I will be buying a least a couple of these when made available.

I believe the last time this subject was brought up I said I'd buy 2 or 3 myself and maybe 4. I know some people will have good intentions but not follow through.
Probably hard for Salvino's to attempt a survey and believe the result would stick to the end when they actually make them. |

Heck, I know almost my entire NR2003 league of guys who run mods (over 20 guys) would love to have me make customs of all their cars. |

If would help if Petty had ever driven one, they seem to really like doing 43 cars. |

Salvino's have said the Asphalt Modified is coming. Sometime this summer or fall. The last they said on one of their Saturday Podcasts, was that the project was being funded by private investors and the kits would be available through those investors shops/sites. They also said it would not be a monthly kit for the Builder's Club... I for one will be getting a few of them. I'm going to do some fantasy builds with previous paint schemes from Cup & Xfinity. As well as a few of my own paint scheme/sponsors combinations... |

If they did a Cavalier body and Pinto body, and released two different Evans cars in each they would pay for the tooling. The modern bodies would be gravy. |

Chassis is WAAYY too modern for a Pinto body. Cavalier would be great, tho. |

I know, but it's probably no worse than the Ridge Runner chassis. It probably would have a few too many bars for a Cavalier body too, but it's a lot closer to that era. |

Should be lots of short-track raw materials at least! |

Revell always claimed the ASA kits didn't sell but try to find them. |

Revell thought the ASA kits might do half as well as the Cup kits did. They did nothing near what most of the Cup kits did and thus why it is hard to find them now. I kinda think Atlantis has them now....I'd drop Pete a note and suggest the kits.....never know! |

The last chassis of the Cavalier era would be pretty close. Mostly small detail changes since then. |
