Happy Veteran's Day! |
Amen to that, Henry!
I'll be 65 in 10 days and I'm blessed enough to be going to my 94 year old, WWII & Korean war veteran Dad's house tonight to grill steaks for him and my stepmom. He's in such good shape that more than once when he was out wearing his WWII veteran hat, strangers have actually challenged him that he's not old enough to have been one and therefore, shouldn't wear the hat. When this has happened, he doesn't say a word- he just politely shows them his drivers license and watches them skulk away, shame-faced.

Thanks to all of you that served the greatest nation God ever blessed this planet with. Tell your dad we all thank him for his service. He's a hero. We say that a lot about a lot of different folks. He's the real deal. _________________ life is hard, it's harder when you're stupid. John Wayne |

And to the rest of us whose family served with Allied forces that helped win WWII - my Dad's service as a Royal Navy aircraft technician helped sink the Bismarck - I hope you always wear your Remembrance Day poppy with pride. |
