I've used good hard files to rough up the surface hoping the super glue will work. Tried gritty sandpaper too but that chrome is tough.

Don't understand why Salvino's went this way with the chrome.

Good timing on your question. I was looking at pics with Tamiya TS-15 blue and TS-51 racing blue but can't make a decision. Pictures vary with bright and dark so just don't know.

I couldn't criticize a model because it's not in me. If I see something I don't like or something lacking I don't say anything figuring the builder was happy enough with their model and willing to sho ...

I've used Tamiya TS-49 too but without the yellow base and thought it looked good.

My past experience with a couple of Salvino's kits are a tight fit of parts so nothing new.

It is a good thing to point this out to anyone who hasn't built one before.

I really like this car. The fact you have this memory and were able to build the car is great for you. Thanks for sharing.

I have always used Testors clear with no problem. A couple of thin coats does the trick and I don't have any issues getting the decal off the paper. Obviously you have to trim very close to the image.
