Here it is!!! The 1995 Miller Genuine Draft T-Bird driven by Rusty Wallace!

This was one of my early-birds (G) probably about the 5th car I built ... In my collection that started in May of 1995 ... so my NASCAR modeling techniques were not fully developed yet (And I am by NO MEANS saying I am a perfect model builder now!!!) But I wasn't gloss coating my models back then and I didn't do a real good job of cleaning up the decal residue either and there are a few things I wish I had done better but, (and this is a message for all you budding modelers out there ... and even myself!... keep workin' on it!) it is still a model I'm proud to display because I did the best job I could at the time! That's the most important thing anyway because if you keep doing your best you will get better and you can be proud of what you've done!

Well time to move along to what is the main subject here, the model!!! This is a Monogram 1995 T-Bird kit with B (B as in so-called bootleg) decals. This was the first retooling of the t-bird kit in 4-5 years and a great improvement in the body and chassis department. The 96-97 kit chassis are identical to this one and the only difference in the bodys is the new snout to reflect the body change in 1996. This body has the non-slab sides which were common until 1996 and are still the rule in BGN today. This was also before I started to add a styrene plastic strip to lower the airdam extension (thus lowering nose of the car). This was also before I got back into using my airbrush again ... for years I had painted military aircraft models using it for camaflage patterns, weathering, streaking of oil leaks and exhaust stains and the like but never to put on a smooth glossy finish! I even brush painted the body interior and used spray cans for all the painting of the chassis parts, and the body exterior! Like I said I'm still very proud to show this one to anybody because in it's day it was up to MY highest standards!

Well I know this has sounded more like something from my personal info page than my usual write up but , Oh well!!! NASCAR...there is no greater SPORT on earth and for me NASCAR modeling...there is no greater hobby on earth!!!

Complete instructions for painting and assembly of chassis, clear parts, and construction of slab sides can be found at the bottom of the main page!
