|

I had posted these two 2008 Dale, Jr. Nationwide rides separately in the past. I figured I'd lump them together for this post since they were both done with my "downforce" mod. Extensive body/nose mods for these two. These are old pictures and the quality isn't the best. I had done the National Guard car first and thought the nose was a little too rounded so I squared it off for the GoDaddy car. I thought it looked a little more correct. The orange and green is paint on the GoDaddy car.
2008 GoDaddy.

Mark, do you still have the link to the how-to for this mod? I had it saved in my bookmarks but it was on the WIP page from the old board...
If not, I vaguely remember how to do it so I could probably pull it off but I'd like to double check some things before I start hacking.
thanks man. |

I definitely still have the pictures from the "how to" saved so that may help. I'll post them in the order I did them for the mod when I get a chance.. They are pretty self explanatory, but I can answer questions and fill in the blanks if you have any.

Okay, here we go.. these are the pictures that went along with the tutorial I originally did. You can pretty much get the idea from the pictures. If you have any specific questions feel free to ask.
First step, I remove everything on the outside of the body marked with blue tape..

I took the lower front valance I had cut off and glued it to the upper portion front bumper.

Then I cut a piece of thin sheet styrene to shape and wrap it around the front.

After some sanding and shaping....
And then I added strips of styrene for a new front valance and side skirts..
And that's basically it.. Before and after pics...

Awesome. Thank you! I'm working on Truex's Wrangler Chevy from 2004 (I believe you did the decals) and will be doing this mod. The reference pic I have looks like they had the downforce package on it. |
