We've been crunching hard on this one for weeks now. I'm seeing #43's in my sleep Laughing We've looked at hundreds of pictures and called in help from a few experts to get this one just right. We were able to cover the 1973, '74 '75 cars and also the 1976 Daytona crash car. Unfortunately we do not have room for the later 1976 and 1977 car with the big hood logo. Maybe a supplement sheet will be done depending on how these sell. Here's the preview.

These are going to the printer on Friday, I hope to have them in stock for the NNL in April. The #5 and #71 are getting printed along with these.

Mike

Beautiful Mike. The best part of the email besides the decals is that you will be at the NNL East. My show budget just increased.

That is a beautiful sheet. Even though I am not in that particular market, I think that you may want to have that suplemental sheet ready because I feel a big seller for you!

Those look spectacular Mike! Keep them in stock because thiey're gonna fly out the door! To be fully comprehensive though it needs some of the "Petty Enterprises" logos. A couple "Level Cross" and the hood STP for the '74-'76 car should be two thirds the size of the QP STP's.

I wouldn't worry too much about the late '76/'77 car, only a few completists will want that. Those stripes are definitely a welcome sight too!

This is good input! We have PE and Level Cross logos on the white sheet. We sized all the STPS to the MPC body. There's obviously no room for any more logos so we have to fudge the sizing just a hair between the '73 and 74 cars.

I see those pesky "Petty Enterprises decals now. What about the "Dodge by Petty" moniker, there should be one in white and one in petty blue, and will these be available in other sizes like 1/25th or 1/43rd. If not as a regular item, can they be special ordered as such?

I won't know pricing until Carto gets the artwork and sends me a quote, but to take an educated guess, I would say maybe $12 for the big sheet and $2 or $3 each for the all white sheets so maybe as low as $15 or as high as $18 for the full set.

The Dodge by Petty logo is on the 1976-77 cars which would wind up with the supplement if we do it.

Check! Very Happy I'm just blown away by the art, I keep forgetting the sheet doesn't cover '72 to '77! Very Happy

Whatever sheets you do, try not to dupicate Dave Vans stuff. So many good choices out there it would seem a shame to do that.

I have no idea what Dave Van has for sale. Dave is a great guy, I met him at NNL last year, but my business decisions are based on what I feel I can sell a full run of. Dave has the luxury of not having to be committed to the cost of a full run of decals.

I 100% agree. Different is usually always good. Some things are a gimme for screen print and has to be done no matter what, but as you said getting new never before done stuff out is nice.

First let me say i'm not knocking anyone, but I find the interest in the larger hood STP interesting. I always felt the car looked more sleek with the smaller STP tucked into the lead edge of the power bulge hood, and the larger STP made the car look...I don't know...bulky?

The big Petty decals should be here around April 22. I'll have a shopping cart on the site as soon as they are ready to ship. At this point it's looking like $16.50 a set. It's a 3 sheet set.

I sure hope they make it in time for NNL East! Sounds like the ETA puts them right on the borderline.

How is going to be the best way to mask off the red/blue and getting the white decal stripes to line up with the paint?

Unless Mike provides a masking template with the decals, the best way would be to photocopy the stripe decal sheet, and use that to make our own templates.

My personal game plan is to mask, paint and then modify the white stripe decals as needed to match. I agree with Brian and will use a black and white photo copy as a point of reference
