This is the Revell 1/24th Davey Allison diecast from 1992. It is packaged with contingency decals to make a '91,'92, or '93 version. For the most part, it appears to be intended as a childs toy. The body contours are off a bit and it lacks significant detail, compared to the adult collectible level cars. My wife brought it home to me from a yard sale and clearly, it had been thoroughly played with by some youngster and it showed it. The first two pics are the before shots. I stripped it down and repainted with dupont black. I added powerslide decals, as well as detail decals. All covered in Dupont clear and polished to a high shine. I added nine bars to the roll cage and added some color and detail to the interior and engine. Thanks for looking.

Looks great - nice to see a lot of Davey decals coming out from Powerslide, these really pop and complete the build. I can't believe that paint - super smooth!!

That looks awesome!! I have a Jeff Gordon Revell diecast from '94-'95 and even though they do lack detail, they are cool because of the working steering and opening hood. I never realized until now that this car and Rusty's MGD car have same base scheme. _________________ Justin Sciulli

Just like in the movies....when they take the ugly, nerdy girl and they make her over into a beautiful princess. Awesome job...
You did a nice job on cleaning up those windows, they look brand new. |

Well as the saying goes-"You can't polish a turd!"
But you sir, pulled it off Those Revell's were pretty rough. Looks like a real diecast now! _________________ "oh we play both kinds of music...country & western."
