hey y'all, finished this one up today. Revellogram kit, resin hood from Mike's, wheel covers and bead lock from Dwight on Shapeways. added the wing supports, had to modify the front wing rear post mounts to fit around the wider hood, modified the nerfs and right arm guard, modified the headers, and added an underhood oil tank. Slixx decals with Tamiya pure white and fluorescent orange (prolly shoulda gone with bright orange to match the decals better). The decals are from 1996 and were still great, only decals that gave me problems were the blue stripes, they broke and flaked and such, but the sheet gives you waaaaay more than what is needed. Normally the left side wing can cause old decals to break going over the contours but these were flawless, no coating necessary. Got to finally use my Revell Chrom spray on the left side wheels, it's some really nice stuff... looks way better than the kit plastic chrome (which i strip off anyway).
got to see this car run a few times in 1996, it was his livery for only one year i think, between the white car when he came back from the truck series and the iconic Channelock blue and red.
anyways... on with the show
these decals are seemingly pretty hard to find, i managed to run down 2 sheets over the years before i built it, which i always try to do in case i mess anything up. if anyone is interested in purchasing my leftover sheet, shoot me a message. it's complete and i have a bunch of extra stripes left over that i would include.
thanks for the look, comments and criticisms are expected and appreciated. _________________ ON DECK/IN THE WORKS: too many started to list...
