Great builds as usual. You really know how to capture the look of that era. I know those cars were fairly dangerous and hard to drive, but man I would like to give it a shot. |

Exceptional builds, definitely representatives of the period. Thanks for sharing them with us _________________ Christian philosophy: "It’s hard to throw stones when you're washing feet" |

These three are a bit of a contrast in how to built one of these 60 era modifies. The 12 was built with
a lower center of gravity, used "stock" headers turned up side down (later changed), and is a 37 Ford
body.
The 38 most likely started out as a full fendered 37 Ford. A mid 50's car brought out of "retirement" to run again in 1960.
The 14 is a fairly standard type that raced until the track changed over to late models in the mid 60's. The
popular 34 Ford body & a V8 engine with four barrel carburetors.
All these models are painted with Testors spray, which is really good paint & dries fast.
The blue is called Testors "Icy Blue". Just finished adding the decals to this one
yesterday (Jan 24th) . First model completed in 2024 !!!
The 14 when it was painted Gold & white. Both colors looked really sharp from the grandstands.

Posted some other photos of the gold 14 a while back.
My neighbor worked on this car in his backyard garage when I lived
In Jacksonville.
As I recall the car didn’t have any floorboards. Could look clear through to the ground!!! My neighbor (Jim) offered to fix this but Larry Flynn liked it the way it was.
I think the gold version & blue version are the same car. Flynn always liked the number 14. Was still running the #14 late models well into the 2000’s in
Southern Florida. A 50 year career!

A few additional photos. Bumpers, roll bars, firewalls etc made from Evergreen plastic. Tires/rims from Ron Coon resin & Mikes decals. Decals are custom made & laser printed. Never go for 100% accuracy. Just try to be representative of what I actuality saw race .
His name was spelled TYER & TYRE. I liked the Tyre spelling. Schooler was a local Custom cam grinding shop in Jacksonville. But even Grand National cars of the era used Schooler Cams...
