I just had to build this aircraft after hearing the story of its pilot. It's also a very unusual camo scheme and I love unusual!
Paint is primarily Gunze acrylics all airbrushed with the decals from a number of sources (mostly my spares box).
I have built planes before but really never took the time or care they deserved but this one was different.
Hopefully it will be the same with the others I have stashed away! I built this about four years ago and not done another one since!
Gonna have to get some done I think! Anyway, enough chatter, here it is

Here you go lefty
"Anton Döbele was born on 16 November 1910 at Ehrensberg in the Waldsee region of Württemberg. Unteroffizier Döbele participated in the Spanish Civil War with the Legion Condor.
On his return to Germany, Döbele underwent fighter pilot training and was posted to the Ergänzungsgruppe/JG 54 for operational training.
In autumn 1941, Döbele was assigned to 1./JG 54 based on the Eastern front. By May 1942, in between stints as a fighter pilot instructor, he had raised his victory total to four.
He recorded his 15th victory on 19 March 1943 on his 216th combat mission. His most successful period came when he joined the famed Nowotny Schwarm of Walter Nowotny (258 victories, RK-Br, killed in action 8 November 1944), Rudolf Rademacher (97 victories, RK) and Karl Schnörrer (46 victories, RK).
Döbele claimed 16 victories in July. He did even better in August, claiming 24 victories, including three Russian fighters shot down on 7 August to record his 49th through 51st victories, three enemy aircraft shot down on 20 August (58-60) and four on 23 August (62-65).
On 1 September, Döbele claimed his 70th victory. His 80th followed on 14 September and his 90th on 4 November.
In aerial combat east of Vitebsk on 11 November 1943, Döbele was killed in Fw 190 A-4 (W.Nr. 7082) “White 11”, when he rammed a Russian Il-2 Sturmovik ground attack aircraft. Oberfeldwebel Döbele was posthumously awarded the Ritterkreuz and promoted to the rank of Leutnant on 26 March 1944.
Anton Döbele was credited with 94 victories in 458 missions. All his victories were recorded over the Eastern front and include 23 Il-2 Sturmoviks. " _________________ "THE HARDEST THING ABOUT FLYING IS THE GROUND"
