Weldon Adams (1928-1995) was a part time NASCAR driver in the 50's & early 60's. Like many of the drivers
of tha era, he was mainly a short track modified racer who ran a few Grand Nationals on occasion.
From Augusta, Ga., he would travel the 250 miles and run Saturday nights at the Jacksonville speedway
dirt track.
He ran a full bodied 37 Ford that was said to be HEMI powered, painted pink & white. Blind in one eye, he used the hood ornament to help judge depth of field.
He was a bit before my time. Don't recall ever seeing him race. But here a photo of Piggy Bennett, Weldon & Larry Flynn at speed at the JAX track.

Can't see it, but has HEMI engine under the hood. Revell 37 Ford, tires from
a Revell 30 Ford Model A, Ron Coon resin wheels,

tight fit

The pink color is from the same spray can I used painted this
XL-1 several years ago. Painting is my least favorite part of
model making, especially two tones. But they usually turn out OK.

This is also a Revell 37 Ford. Amazing how different it looks from the #18 37 Ford…

Both are outstanding. I think the blue background changes the pink hue. Great looking builds. Cool that you have some story info to go with the post.
