Salvino’s kit with Tamiya paint. This is my first build of one of these kits and I learned quite a few things that I hope will make my next modified go smoother. These are not bad kits and with some patience and a lot of test fitting they can build up to a very nice model.

A few things I learned are, first open all the mounting holes up a tad larger with a drill bit. This will aid in getting the parts seated correctly.

Second I removed all the mounting pins from the engine except for the front 2, I also removed the bottom belt from the belt assembly as it hits the front suspension.

Thirdly I cut down the mounting tabs on the rear coil springs and rounded them out to match the rear axles. I did not take enough out on this build and don’t have the rear tire clearance I would have liked on the drivers side.

Overall though I am please with the results and really think these are nice kits. Once again the keys are test fitting and patience.

Those tips are also helpful when doing the next-gen cars. Especialy about increasing the hole size to make things fit better. Again, excellent job on this one.

Thank You very much for the added take and fixes on the nuances of these kits.
You've done a great job on this one. Closest to inspiring an "Old School" modified builder like me to add one to my collection.
