Salvino’s kit with Tamiya paint. This is my first build of one of these kits and I learned quite a few things that I hope will make my next modified go smoother. These are not bad kits and with some patience and a lot of test fitting they can build up to a very nice model.
A few things I learned are, first open all the mounting holes up a tad larger with a drill bit. This will aid in getting the parts seated correctly.
Second I removed all the mounting pins from the engine except for the front 2, I also removed the bottom belt from the belt assembly as it hits the front suspension.
Thirdly I cut down the mounting tabs on the rear coil springs and rounded them out to match the rear axles. I did not take enough out on this build and don’t have the rear tire clearance I would have liked on the drivers side.
Overall though I am please with the results and really think these are nice kits. Once again the keys are test fitting and patience.

Those tips are also helpful when doing the next-gen cars. Especialy about increasing the hole size to make things fit better. Again, excellent job on this one. |

Thank You very much for the added take and fixes on the nuances of these kits.
You've done a great job on this one. Closest to inspiring an "Old School" modified builder like me to add one to my collection. |
