Lot's of guess work on this one. What I do know is it was built
with the idea LeeRoy Yarbrough would return home to Jacksonville
on Saturday nights but I don't think he ever got behind the wheel.
To busy with his NASCAR career.
Looked at the color photo of this car & figured it was a stretched out
picture of a model A body with some sort of odd looking hood. Just not
sure but this is as close as I come come to the picture.
Also the sign painter got a little to fancy with the numbers. Were hard to
"recreate" for the model.
Last of the Red Moore #39's. Sure looked different from the other ones.
Didn't see any front shocks in the picture. But I added shocks anyway.

I like it. Don't know who's tires you are using, but with the rate you are turning these out, they are glad to have you as a customer. |

Ron coon resins.
Rear tires/rims around $5 each. Front tires are from the junk box. Old style front rims are $1.30 each.
The body is from Big Donkey Resins (Mikes decals) at $25. Takes a lot of dermel work to make it fit.
What you don’t see is all the Evergreen plastic (roll bars, fire walls, hood, etc). And metal tubing for the engine headers & side roll bars.
Glue, super glue, body putty. It’s adds up. Easy to spend $100 on a model just for parts & material (plus decals & paint). Never mind the time !!!!
Sure not the hobby it was when we were kids !!!! |

Hey Hawk...Good job on the replica. The body looks like a 30-31 ford to me. But...in those years...it could be any manufacture. _________________ Short Track racing....Ya gotta love it.

Had this picture for some time. Always though the photo itself was “stretched“ out. Roof kind of looks to low to be a Model A but was an easy body to “chop” the top.
But it’s that hood with the side louvers & the angled radiator grill that’s strange. Searched the Internet but couldn’t find anything to match.
Could have just been an inventive body man’s handy work.
Says “bodywork by Rouse” on the front part of the hood. He was noted for doing wonders with old sheet metal. |
