I needs some help on the Piedmont sponsored cars, from photos and the inter net I have got a good idea on some of the years and cars that Piedmont sponsored, but I have a question on one, from the inter net I found one car with the number 18 and it says it was a 1981 Oldsmobile? What did Olds have as a stock car in 1981.

I assume that you are referring to the Revell 1985 Olds kit. You will be working in 1/25th which will show next to the 1/24th kits. The Revell/Monogram chassis will not fit under it. Best thing to do is to get the resin body or find one of the older transkits for the Buick body. |

No it won't work. The Oldsmobile Cutlass 442 was an earlier & entirely different car, actually a sister car to the Chevrolet Chevelle / Laguna of the mid - 1970's, with a longer wheelbase & different body.
The 1981 Cutlass was a member of the GM 108" wb NOTCHback bodies of 1978, which included the Buick Regal, Pontiac Grand Prix, and Chevy Monte Carlo. The " first cousins " were the Pontiac LeMans & Chevy Malibu with a sloped rear window. The resin body shown will be the best choice. |

If you were to go with the resin body for the Cutlass, one of the monogram Buicks/Monte Carlo/Grand Prix NASCAR chassis is likely your best best to fit that body. |

Yes - that kit would work. Looks like a re-pop of the Hurst Oldsmobile. Don't know what the production numbers were for either kit though, they might be hard to find. Hopefully the hood bulge is an add-on for the kit; otherwise you can fab a hood out of several layers of Evergreen 15 thousandth sheet plastic. |
