Got this one done after 3 months. Amt kit purchased at Walmart. 145 hours. It's one of those sealed hood models with molded in seats and exhaust so lots of cutting and adding is required. I also tried to change the automatic transmission underneath to look like a manual trnasmission. I have always liked the look of the 64 Ford, so I bought 2 more of the kits. This is the car That Ned won the Dixie 400 in that year.

Looks great! Those annual kits are a great way to knock out builds without the mental dilemma of wanting to add details under the hood. The 1963 and 64s have tons of options. |

Thanks, Jason. Still not where I want to be on the paint. In person you can still see some brush strokes in places. I'm thinking about trying a foam brush to apply the paint. Maybe try to dab it on instead of stroke it on. My next build will mostly be covered in decals so that might be a good one to try it on. |

Another gorgeous build Mark. Your talents simply amaze me. Great work, even if it is a Ford. _________________ I may have to grow old, but I refuse to grow up |

Remember that car well. On the cover of the first issue of Stock Car Racing magazine too! Excellent job, very well done!

Super nice build Mark. I love the stance, low with just a touch of lean. There's a lot of lovely detailing on this build that make it look so much like the real car. Overall a beautiful replica of an iconic race car. _________________ "When you arrive at a fork in the road, take it" - Yogi Berra |

Thanks, Bob. Just one of those little extra things to add to make it look a little more like a race car. |

Outstanding work as always, Mark! Your scratch building skills always amaze and inspire me to try and do more with my builds. I hope you continue to post your WIP on future projects! |

Thanks, Nengelman. I've got one going on over at MCM. I'm trying out one of the NextGen Camaro kits. It's a well-engineered kit and fun to build once I figure out the directions. The parts look like they can just be installed into a space and you're done, but the part has to be in the right position because sometimes it will fit but you get down the line a little and the next assembly doesn't fit right, so you have to go back and figure out what you did wrong. I'm sure the next one will go smoother once I figure out this one. It's in their Nascar wip section. |

I am in awe - hand painted? I found this post via a Google search and my first impression was that it was a photo of a University of Racing die cast. I bow to your skills, and I thank you for your explanations of how you made such a basic kit look so wonderful. |
