This weekend i have been using Dettol to strip 25yrs old auto acrylic, works great!
I was sceptical, disinfectant? But it does the job.
This pic with top yellow and black and white undercoat.
And finally down to the base yellow.
Soaked the plastic overnight and then six to eight hours for smaller patches.

Am in the UK, so Dettol is an everyday item. I have read it's not available in the US.
But it's the 'chloroxleynol' (as on front of bottle) that strips the paint.
I have tried other types of low cost brown* disinfectant and they don't work.
*Must be a UK thing. |
