Built from the Accurate Miniature kit with a a few changes to reflect the specific car
I am particularly pleased with the paint finishes. Everything is brush painted. Vallejo primers and color coats. I did my own mix for the body color to look as much as possible to GM Silver Blue color. Tamiya acrylic clear, again brush painted then polished. A brushed Future seal coat applied over decals.
Modifications limited to wheel opening profiles and a scratch built front grille. A few detailing adds such as PE seat belts and underhood plumbing & wiring. I also substituted the way too big kit tires with the ones from a Fujimi GT40 kit.
Extensive work to get the proper ride height and hood fitment over the engine as described it the w.i.p. of this project (on MCM site).
Thank you for watching and thanks to all of you for your input & advice during the w.i.p.

You definitely knocked that one out of the park.
Been closely following your build and enjoyed watching your progress and definitely learned from it. |

Yes, painted with a brush. I've never given up on the idea that brush painting could be developed into a decent alternative for those of us who do not have the possibility of spray painting.
I am very happy with the progress made in the last year. _________________ "When you arrive at a fork in the road, take it" - Yogi Berra |

Thank you all for the nice comments. I fully enjoyed doing this one even though it was a challenging kit. _________________ "When you arrive at a fork in the road, take it" - Yogi Berra |

Pierre, I never get tired of looking at this Awesome build. Looks even better over here at Randy's. The paint still blows me away. My intention is to use my phone for photography on my next build like you used on this. It does not hide anything. If it looks good with the phone camera you know it looks good in person. Plus, I won't have to do any massive editing. |

Thanks Mark. Your advice on the acrylic clear + polishing have provided me with the last cornerstone of my painting process.
The photo setup with mid gray background colors are also a big plus. The i-phone likes it a lot. _________________ "When you arrive at a fork in the road, take it" - Yogi Berra |

I'm looking forward to trying it on my next build. The only difference is I have an android phone. I tried it before, but I had to email the photos to my computer, it really wasn't that big a deal. The photos were a lot crisper. Almost too crisp. |
