I just completed the 1984 Coors Tbird.
I had some questionable quality decals for this one, so I doubled the original kit decals with the aftermarket ones. I replaced the 5 hole wheels with 9 hole wheels and closed the front wheel openings a bit. I also removed the side trim, door frames, and opera windows/flanges.
Now working on the 1986 car.
Completed: 1983, 1984, 1987, 1988, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1995, 2001 |

I'm a little slow building kits. Since picking the hobby up again in 2020, I have built 5 cars 1983, 1984, 1987, 1988 & 2001. But I have the kits set aside for '85, 86, 97, 98, & 99. So at my current rate I might finish this thing in a few more years. But I'm having fun researching and reading the tips and tricks from you all on here. I'm going to try making my own window net and racing harness on the next one. |

I finally finished the 1986 car.
* 1986 Resin nose (thanks @OLE SCHOOL MODELER)
* High-back racing seat (thanks @lefty1820)
* 9-hole racing wheels (thanks @Jagracer68)
* Reduced the front wheel well openings (thanks ALL for all the instructions on how to do this)
* Racing harnesses from Detailmaster... my eyes are still recovering
* Powerslide decals
I think I will take a break from this body style and work on one of the McDonalds cars. I will circle back to the 1985 Million Dollar car. I figure I need to make THAT one the best I can, and I learn new tricks from everyone on here all the time.

1996 McDonalds Thunderbird
Pretty much box stock but the decals were in pretty bad shape. I used white decal film in an attempt to keep the colors from showing through the golden arches and the numbers.
I added a photo etched grille from The Model Car Garage.
Lastly I lowered the front just a bit to give it a better stance.
On to the 1997 Thunderbird next! |

1997 McDonalds Thunderbird
Stock Revell kit and decals. I lowered the stance, scratch built the exhaust added photoetched grille and vents. Other than that all box stock. For some reason I had trouble with the decals silvering on this car.
