Just wondering if anyone has used a food dehydrator to speed up drying on a resin body? I’ve used it on plastic bodies and parts with no issues. Figured I would ask before “experimenting” on a resin body I don’t want to ruin and have to buy again. LOL! Thanks in advance for any help!

Everything I have heard says no, the temperature is just a little high and you can warp/semi melt the body.

No personal experience but I would not do it.

I do it all the time but mine has a temperature control. No hotter than 95 degrees. I built one many years ago with a dimmer in the heater circuit that I tuned with a thermocouple inside the dehydrator. Then I found one with a temperature control from the factory, I've been using it for resin and styrene for about ten years. Don't use weights, clamps, or rubber bands on either resin or styrene inside a dehydrator and don't use a non-adjustable one.

Tom,
Thanks for the info Brother. Mine is adjustable down to 95 degrees. I’ve put a lot of regular kit parts in it, but no bodies including the couple of resins that I’m working on. I thought maybe they would be ok at the lower temp, but didn’t want to chance it without hearing from someone that had done it. Thanks Buddy and great to hear from you. Hope life is treating you great!
