DK: And if you want dirt, get ready for a dose of it as the Fantasy Cup Series comes to the Thunder Mountain Speedway for the KFC 100! Hello, everyone, I'm Dave Knight alongside Darrell Waltrip. Thanks for joining us in Corbin, Kentucky on a perfect evening for racing.

DW: Dave, this is the second and final dirt race of the season. We've had 2 paved tracks and a road course since then. But don't forget, we've got this year's Vegas dirt winner JR "Razorback" Sealey plus 2 other past dirt winners in the field. Keith Wallace got 2 dirt wins last year and by the way, he won the championship too.

DK: And the other past dirt winner being Lee "Spud" Loggins. His last dirt win coming 2 years ago in Terre Haute. It's the penultimate race in 2021 and with that, we go trackside for the opening ceremony.

Ladies and gentlemen, please rise for our national anthem.

And now with the most famous words in motorsports, give it up for our Grand Marshall, famous comedian and Kentucky native Rob Riggle!

RR: Lady and gentlemen, start your engines!

Green Flag

DW: Boogity boogity boogity! Let's go racin' in the dirt one more time!

DK: And the defending reries champion Keith Wallace did not let our pole sitter Lee Loggins get the better of him. They draw dead even as they hammer through turns 1 and 2.

DW: Dave, I think the 5 of Loggins is gonna have to keep that 23 car at bay all night because both of them qualified within a tenth of a second of each other.

DK: And Loggins finding his footing as they come out of turn 4. He'll lead the opening lap by a nose.

Lap 35

DW: Look at this, Dave. The points leader Tim Wallace in that #11 Ford's been wheelin' his way forward. He just took the 3rd spot from his brother Kenner in that 19.

Lap 47

DK: Trouble in turn 3! Car in the wall, it's the 23 of Keith Wallace!

DW: He's been runnin' hard tryin' to hold off the 71 of Hick Strutlin.

DK: As we take a look at the replay, we see Wallace gets loose from the inside and he catches Strutlin. Wallace goes headfirst into the guardrail. Strutlin spins but it doesn't look like he has any major damage on his Ford.

DW: Dave, the way that back end snapped around, I think he had a tire go down. Tough luck for that team tonight.

Lap 77

DK: It's been a hard road for the Tim Wallace to fight his way towards the front but he has now put his brother in the rear view as he begins drawing a bead on the so far, unchallenged Lee Loggins.

Lap 88

DK: Darrell, this 11 team has been so impressive in this event. He's now less than a car length from the bumper of Loggins.

DW: But remember, getting TO ol' Spud and getting BY him are 2 totally different animals. That guy in the 5 has been at this a long time and he's gonna make the 11 earn every inch.

White Flag

DK: White flag, one lap to go. Tim Wallace has been all over the back bumper of Lee Loggins.

DW: Lee's got a slight advantage throughout 1 and 2 but Tim has been gettin' huge runs down the back straightaway.

DK: And the 11 sticks his nose to the inside of the 5 of Loggins as they hit turns 3 and 4. Loggins hanging tough. They touch! Both cars wiggling. They gather it up. Wallace loses about a car length and Lee Loggins comes to the line to win at Thunder Mountain Speedway!

DW: My gosh, Dave! If THAT ain't gettin' it done, I don't know what is! He led every lap of this race!

DW: A dominant performance by the veteran Lee "Spud" Loggins leads to a win. It will be his 2nd of the season.

1. 5 - Lee Loggins
2. 11 - Tim Wallace
3. 19 - Kenner Wallace
4. 46 - JR Sealey
5. 88 - Amy Hilton
6. 71 - Hick Strutlin
7. 72 - Bill Godlewski
8. 23 - Keith Wallace (out)

DW: And Dave, if that wasn't enough of a nail-biter, that puts these 2 guys tied for the points lead.

DK: And the tie breaker will go to Tim Wallace for the time being. Both drivers have 2 wins this season but Tim Wallace's best finish after that is 2nd place over Loggins whose best is 3rd. Darrell, this was only the NEXT to last race! What are we going to get next week when the money is REALLY on the line in Dover?

DW: All I know is that the only sure thing is that NOTHIN' is for sure!

DK: And with next week being the finale, there is one more factor that may change the course of the championship picture. Of course, that being the 5 point bonus for best looking car. The fans will vote and the winner will be revealed next week before the Busch 300 in Dover, Delaware. For Darrell Waltrip, I'm Dave Knight. Thank you so much for joining us and we'll see you next week!
