DK: And the rush will be on as the Fantasy Cup Series comes to the South Alabama Speedway for the running of the Coca-Cola 100. Hello again, everyone, I'm Dave Knight alongside NASCAR legend Darrell Waltrip.

DW: Dave, we're back to just makin' left turns now after 2 weeks ago at the Glen and we've got 100 laps to get the job done. That's a little shorter than most of the paved tracks we run on so these drivers are gonna have to be aggressive early on. Passing was a little difficult in practice so you've gotta get what you can as quick as you can.

DK: And points leader Lee "Spud" Loggins starts on the outside pole. Can he hold onto it today? We'll find out as we're about to go racing. And now, we go trackside for the opening ceremony.

Ladies and gentlemen, plaese rise and remove your hats for our national anthem.

Race fans, here with the most famous words in motorsports, please welcome our grand marshal, a member of the "Alabama Gang," Red Farmer!

RF: Lady and gentlemen, start your engines!

Green Flag

DW: Boogity boogity boogity! Let's go racin' in Alabama!!

DK: And Loggins wasting no time. He got a heck of a jump on pole sitter JR Sealey. He'll lead the field as they barrel through turns 1 and 2.

DW: This track is less than half a mile and these turns are tight. But ol' Spud's gonna keep that momentum as they make their way through turns 3 and 4.

DK: And Loggins leading the first lap here in Alabama!

Lap 16

DK: And Sealey making his move to the inside of Loggins. Can't make it stick and gets loose. H slides to the outside, gathers it up but he'll lose a few spots. The 23 and 11 of Keith and Tim Wallace respectively are the benefactors of that.

DW: And the other Wallace had to check up to avoid the 46. Kenner Wallace loses a few spots as well.

Lap 50

DW: Oh no! We got a smoker in the 3rd turn! Is that...?

DK: The Ford of leader Lee Loggins has smoke billowing from the exhaust. The engine giving way at the halfway point of this race. What a heartbreaker for the number 5 team after what had been a dominant performance.

Lap 68

DK: And the 11 of Tim Wallace goes to the inside of the 23. Father and son side-by-side for the 2nd position! They'll draw dead even down the back straightaway.

DW: And T's gonna hug that inside line like a kid huggin' his granny. He's got the edge in 3 and 4.

DK: And he'll complete the pass down the front stretch.

Lap 90

DK: And the 11 of Tim "T" Wallace working the inside and reeling in the #72 of "Wild Bill" Godlewski. He's made up 2 full car lengths in the past 3 laps.

White Flag

DK: And the white flag is out and Tim Wallace is right at the bumper of Godlewski. He'll put a nose to the inside. Godlewski can't quite close the door. He gets forced to the high line and Tim Wallace will draw dead even with Wild Bill as they hit the back stretch.

DW: And he's gonna try the same move he tried on his dad earlier. That was the practice run and now he's gonna use it in turns 3 and 4.

DK: Godlewski staying nose to nose with the 11 but Tim Wallace comes off of turn 4 with a fender's advantage. He'll take his 2nd checkered flag of the season here in South Alabama!

DW: And, Dave, that was the first lap he led all day but it was the one that paid!

1. 11 - Tim Wallace
2. 72 - Bill Godlewski
3. 23 - Keith Wallace
4. 46 - JR Sealey
5. 71 - Hick Strutlin
6. 19 - Kenner Wallace
7. 88 - Amy Hilton
8. 5 - Lee Loggins (Out)

DK: And that win will propel Tim Wallace to the points lead. What a finish, DW!

DW: That guy in the 11 drove a heck of a race and won it with a last lap pass! I'm gonna have to get my blood pressure checked after that finish!

DK: And with that, we wrap things up here in Alabama. Thank you so much for joining us. For Darrell Waltrip, I'm Dave Knight. We'll see you next week on the Kentucky clay for the KFC 100!

What a shame for the L.A.P. 1 racing Ford here in our home state. We will keep our head up and fight on next week. Congratulations to Tim Wallace for a great win.
