DK: The sun has set, the dirt is wet, so fasten your seatbelts and place your bet! Hello again, Fantasy Cup fans! I'm Dave Knight alongside Darrell Waltrip. Welcom to the Dirt Track at Las Vagas for the running of the M&Ms 100.
DW: Dave, I think about the only thing sweeter than the sponsor for this race is gonna be the show that the guys and gal in those cars are about to put on!
DK: Indeed, DW and we are about to go racing.
Ladies and gentlemen, please rise and remove your hats for the playing of our national anthem.

And now, race fans, with the most famous words in motorsports, CEO of Mars Incorporated, Grant Reid.
GR: Lady and gentlemen, start your engines!
Green Flag
DW Boogity boogity boogity! Lets go racin' in the dirt!
DK: Pole sitter Hick Strutlin gets a good jump and thunders off of turn 2 with a car length advantage over the 72 of Bill Godlewski. Teammate Amy Hilton didn't have as good of luck, she lost a few spots right off the start.
DW: Well, Hick's bringin' it out of turn 4 to lead the first lap!
Lap 31
DW: And now the leaders are gonna go at it again. They've been door to door since the start of the race.
DK: And they get together in turn 3! Both cars slowing, spinning up the hill! Strutlin saves it.
DW: I think Wild Bill's got a tire down. He's limping back to the pits. He looks like he can continue. That right rear Kielbasa got cut by the 71's fender.
Lap 55
DW: Ol' Razorback's closed the gap on the leader Lee Loggins.
DK: Loggins, of course, inheriting the lead after that incident back on lap 31. Strutlin was able to stay on the lead lap but Godlewski is 2 laps down.
Lap 71
DK: Loggins, last week's winner, has held off the Buick of JR Sealey until now. The 46 gets a run on the outside of turn 2. He'll take the lead from the Ford of Loggins.
Lap 88
DK: The battle now is for 2nd place. Keith Wallace in the 23 Ford Fusion making a run on the 5 of Loggins.
DW: They're side by side. I think Wallace has the advantage off of 2.
DK: And Lee Loggins will answer that with a move of his own. He'll run Wallace up the hill from the inside. Neck and neck as they come to the line.
White Flag
DW: That battle for 2nd is comin' down to the wire, Dave. It's been back and forth between these 2 guys for several laps.
DK: And the leader, JR Sealey will now lead them by 3 car lengths into turns 3 and 4. And Loggins goes to the inside, he gets loose, gathers it up but not enough to hold off the 23. Checkered flag in the air, JR Sealey will win here in Las Vegas!! Keith Wallace overtakes the 5 of Lee Loggins for the 2nd spot.
DW: What a show that was!!
DK: And we go now to the full finishing order.
1. 46 - JR Sealey
2. 23 - Keith Wallace
3. 5 - Lee Loggins
4. 11 - Tim Wallace
5. 71 - Hick Strutlin
6. 88 - Amy Hilton
7. 19 - Kenner Wallace
8. 72 - Bill Godlewski
DW: What a heartbreaking start to the season for that 72 team, Dave.
DK: Indeed, Darrell. And the points standings have shifted significantly.
DK: And with that, we'll see you next week in Hickory, NC for the Flowmaster 150. For Darrell Waltrip, I'm Dave Knight. Thanks again for joining us. |
