The non chrome portion (where the taillights are, not the lower bumper) on my Salvino Monte Carlo (77-79 version) Kit just doesn't seem to fit at all. its seems to be dimensionally smaller that the main body form its supposed to glue too

Any one else have issue with this part? if so, any recommendations?

You could call Salvinos and talk to Jim Rogers; describe your problem to him and see what he thinks.

I called the company and he answered, we chatted about models and racing for about 45 minutes. It was a very pleasant conversation.

Yes I had that problem. I built mine over a year ago so I'm a little fuzzy on the detail, but I remember working on the very corners by the top of the trunklid with a small file and notching it out a bit so the rear piece fit.
