Does anyone use Tamiya PS polycarbonate paints on styrene models? They say very specifically that they are not for use on plastic models, but i do seem to recall someone on here posting a build that they used it on.
Wanting to do some Bobby Hamilton Country Time builds, and the PS line has the fluorescent yellow and pink. _________________ ON DECK/IN THE WORKS: too many started to list...

They are dead flat as they are used on the inside of the clear bodies. I do not THINK they eat the plastic....just a rough finish.....IIRC!!! |

I use the poly paint years ago on one of my models. Dries dead flat needs a gloss coat used over a primer, color was nice. I was using the pink. Also years ago Pactra made a color called blue dust was a perfect match for the Alka Seltzer blue. Never bought it but have seen it used same as above but color was dead on. |

18,
i did the 1993 Greg Sacks T-bird with the poly spray and it didnt hurt a thing. in fact it turned out great! it is very neon and spot on! it does dry very flat, so be prepared to use a few coats of clear. but i was happy with mine overall. |

Was that the pink or yellow one? I had some concerns about the pink being “too pink” versus what the pictures showed, which seemed a bit deeper but still fluorescent. _________________ ON DECK/IN THE WORKS: too many started to list...

18,
sorry, i guess i shouldve have been more specific. yes i did the PS yellow 93
t-bird not the pink. i did not use a white base coat under the neon yellow, i just went straight white primer and then onto the PS yellow then onto about 3 coats of tamiya clear. it could probably have came out better as far as less dull but i am happy with the results for just a shelfer for my collection. |
