From and 48 year old build....liquic Future floor polish applied over decals and mostly bare plastic....The roof decal cracked after sitting in a Non Climate controlled storage facility in Albuquerque, back in the latter half of 2005.....
Just bought a couple great sheets of Yesterday's Decals for the early 70's Petty car(s)...

I'd try an ammonia-based window cleaner first, then maybe straight ammonia if necessary. Not sure if it will work on something that old, but it has always worked on fresher Future for me. HTH!
