What is the best practice for removing decals that were put on with Solva-set?

I had some tape pull off parts of a decal and I need to replace it? I thought about just putting a second decal over it but I believe it will show. Also, the paint was polished before I put the decals on so I don't want to harm the finish if possible.

When i repainted my Bill Elliott Bud car, i simply used a hobby knife and slipped it under the decal to start it and then peeled it off. I also lightly scraped the smaller spots that wouldn’t come off. Of course, my situation is different because i primed and repainted so I wasn’t real concerned about what happened to the existing paint.

Micro sol will soften the decal so that it can be removed without any damage to the surrounding area. You may need to apply several times but when done the decal will be gone and the area perfectly clean.

Update on this...hot water works fairly well to loosen then and then you can scratch them off with your fingernail. It does soften the paint also so be careful

vinegar works, smells like hell, but if the model is unassembled you can pour in a container and let soak. I think its the white cider vinegar, not the dark,.don't know if it really makes any difference but I was always told to use white
