Working on prepping and body for another Championship car. Starting with a Dale Earnhardt Goodwrench Lumina kit. Purchased Powerslide decals. Working on front fenders alittle. From what I can tell in pictures it appears that the fenders should flow into the bumper cover better than the kit has molded. Slung alittle Tamiya Putty and sanded and primed.

Sprayed Tamiya Black and then taped and sprayed Tamiya Silver Leaf. Had I looked at the Powerslide decals first, I would have painted the Silver first. Luckily it doesn't look like I have any bleed through into the Black.

I had read somewhere that Earnhardt's Goodwrench cars started out as Poppy Red. Had a bottle of Scalefinishes Calypso Coral, that I had heard was the same as Poppy Red, and airbrushed the rollcage. Awfully bright and shiny. Would like to tone the glossy down some but afraid to mess it up.

Look's great! I really like the front end work you did.
I wouldn't touch the interior. When I built his first Goodwrench Aerocoupe, I thought the same thing- that it was to bright- but when you drop that black body down on it, it needs every bit of that brightness to look "right". To me, nothing kills the looks of Sr.s red-interiored cars quicker than when the red on the inside is too dark and not orange enough. Your's looks spot-on!

Using on the Goodwrench Lumina kits that came with a driver and pit accessories, thought I would see what I could do with the driver figure. Been awhile since I built one of these Lumina kits. Don't think I ever used the driver figure before. Had to cut off his feet and shorten his legs and reglue his feet on to get him to fit.

Working on decals. Went pretty good. Hope they stick. Laid the red stripe last night and did the rest tonight. Had one red strike start to come off tonight, so I applied some MicroSet. Even had my little girl do her first decal, had to straighten it out for her.

Another outstanding build. Love the fact your kids are into it. I remember my dad sitting at our breakfast table building an Impala kit with me somewhere around 1968. I've loved plastic kits since then.
