Just finished my first 2+2 up. I combined an old Monogram GP body with the Salvino 2+2 bits. Here's a link to what I did. Mike's blank issue 2+2 with his Kodiak decals. Model Master Classic White and Tamiya TS43 on the chassis.

Thanks for looking,
Joe

That looks beautiful! The roll bars fit so much better than I have seen on most of the kits.

exactly lionpride!!!- Joe what did you do to get the cage to fit the body better? also how did you remove the rear bumper guards so cleanly?
this is a great build. perfect stance, one of my fav 2+2's.

Never mind joe, i didn't see the link. why did salvino lengthen and raise the greenhouse? that explains why the roll cage doesn't fit properly in the body. and why if the oeiginal kit didn't have the bumper guards molded on them would they add them? as well meaning as they are they just seem to not get anything right or screw up something that was already perfect. all they had to do is start with the original notchback and modify the nose an rear like you did-
Unbelievable

joe if someone wants to use the salvino 2+2 body how would you go about raising the rollcage to fit the body? the rear bumper is easy, just use an older kit bumper and the nose can be shaped and filled.

thanks-joe

What I did was remove the window net, and cut the cage below the dash. I added approx 1/8” to push the front of the cage up. This tucked the halo and front bars up into the roof. I also ground a small channel above the main hoop. When I do my Petty car I plan to use the Oteri method.

yes i like his method, just my cutting skills are not as refined. how does the body sit with your method o-tree? joe gets a nice stance with his method, look how low the wheel openings come down over the tire.
i was thinking of just adding some strip plastic to the runners on the chassis where the cage glues to it so as to raise the whole cage up higher. probably would then have to grind off the extra height at the front of the cage back down to the height of the firewall, no biggie.
