Finally started one of the Salvinos Monte Carlos. I followed all the discussions on these, and while I heard the complaints about their chrome process it never occurred to me it would impacted gluing. Am I missing something or is the only way to glue these pieces super glue. I have been totally unable to scrape it off down to the plastic. Any suggestions or best practices? Thanks, Don

I’ve been modeling for some time but never really used epoxy. Any suggestions on the best/easiest options?

Take a small file and rough up the chrome where you need the glue to be. Use gorilla glue with the "Brush and Bottle" yellow cap. If you get some in a visible spot, use a toothpick to remove the exposed glue as it sets. As for epoxy glues, I like Gorilla or Duro 2 part. Mix equal amounts with a toothpick.

I use Loctite gel super glue for my builds, haven’t gotten to my Salvinos yet... will this work?

I used Loctite on one of my Olds'. This is where I started filing the area to rough it. The Loctite seemed to work fine but, all I had was the regular runny stuff and I prefer a gel for this. The one positive I see in the "real" chrome, is that super glues seem to come off a lot easier if you get it on a visible surface.

Thanks guys. I have been using Gorilla gel super glue so far with good results. I will be getting some five minute epoxy too.
