Hello all, I’m working on the 1964 Petty Plymouth that he ran at Daytona at the 500. Questions that I have are; what tires did he use, were the wheels chrome, steel, or some other color, was the gas cap chrome, steel, or some other color, and what color were the tail light covers. I have the book “Cars of the King” but am still confused on the colors.
Please help.
Thanks.
Jim

Rims were chrome. The tires were Goodyear Blue Streaks. The gas cap was chrome; the tail light covers were a dark color (in BW photos) I assume they were red but can't confirm. There was a Plymouth logo on the driver's side tail light cover.

Would your kit be the Lindberg or Jo-han?
(The Jo-han kit has the correct headers.)

Does anyone cast the headers? I have the Lindberg kit in my stash and would like to get the correct parts.

Moebius made a 65 Belvedere a few years ago and it had the correct headers, better than the ones in the old Johan kit.

You know, I have a pair that fell off my JoHan. I was thinking of making them my first stab at resin casting before glueing them back on...

Which Moebius '65 has them, there are several kits or are they all the same?

The 65 Plymouth Melrose Missile kit has them. Some of the other Moebius kits may have them but the Melrose Missile was the only kit I bought.

Bill J. That pic you posted doesn't have the Plymouth decal on the left tail light cover. It looks like this hood ornament.
