I heard that Chip Ganassi Racing paints their chassis white

Going with a very light grey would be accurate, I use SEM Promax Chassis grey.

I have some SEM chassis grey and use it for older builds, IMO it doesn’t look light enough to be a Gen 6 chassis color.

Thank you! Been having some problems getting the right chassis color for a while since I typically use just Tamiya paint.

It very well may be too dark, its hard to know for sure unless looking at it in person, tv/photo's lighten grey up some.

I apply it using an air brush and do one coat and its pretty light, but I think for the next Gen 6 build I do I am going to try the Tamiya Insignia White that so many rave about .

The SEM is closer to a dove grey, to me. The Insignia White sprays well out of the rattle can, I don’t bother with primer.
