I have seen pictures of the Wrangler AeroCoupe with Blue chassis/rollbars and pictures of it being Grey. Does anybody really know when they changed colors inside? Was it Blue in 1986 and Grey in 1987 or just changed mid way thru a specific year? When you do search, the one in the RCR Museum appears to be Grey.

I can’t answer your specific questions, but all the pics of the actual car on the track, they all appear to have the blue interior.

As for the museum car... you can’t always trust restorations. The Mark Martin Stroh’s tbird at his museum (or Roush’s, not sure just seen pics) has yellow “Goodyear #1” lettering on the tires. That’s about 4-5 years too early.

Roush had a Martin Stroh '88 Ford that had a 89 body A pillar back......I know that resto is wrong.
I'd say all #3 I saw at track were blue.

here is a link to the one that Dave is talking about

https://performance.ford.com/series/stock-car-racing/news/articles/stock-car-racing/2017/08/fusions-show-off-exciting-throwback-schemes.html

and here is a link to the one i was talking about

https://www.arkansasonline.com/news/2014/sep/25/mark-martin-museum-drives-success-home-/

upon reviewing the Mark Martin museum piece, there is tons wrong with it. front end, contingencies, tires... wowzers.

bottom line - you can't always trust restorations for accuracy... they seem to go with what they have handy.

84 and some of 85 had grey chassis most of 86-87 were blue. In late 87 some were red/ orange. I havent seen an aerocoupe with a grey one. But theres always one that got past my research
