Was just browsing ebay for Revell sprint car kits and they released a new kit! #71 Joey Saldana Indy Race Parts car. Looking at the pics on the box sides and it looks like a new seat, air box and other engine parts, headers, nerf bars, body panels, etc. Looks nice. May order a couple. _________________ ON DECK/IN THE WORKS: too many started to list...

Ok so i ordered 2 off ebay then did a little research online. Tampo printed Hoosier tires (still the same, old, incorrect for modern cars front tire tread pattern though) and the seat looks awesome. The old one was so bad...
When i get the kits i may post pics of the new parts here, if anyone is interested. _________________ ON DECK/IN THE WORKS: too many started to list...

I’d love to see the contents.
I’m actually nearing completion of an earlier issue of the kit kit and could really use the pad printed Hoosiers. I wonder what the state of their customer service is right now...? |

Picked one of these up and very excited with the updates. The tampo printed tires are a big plus. Not a bunch of chrome to strip either. Hopefully there will be many more variations and/or many aftermarket decals to come. |

Got the kit today, the updates are awesome and much-needed. Several all-new parts trees to go along with the outdated Gambler-marked torsion bars and steering gear. 😉
Looks like all the original parts are pretty much there still, it has 2 seats, 2 sets of injector stacks, and so on. Separate bead locks! Updated wheel centers.
Rob, will try and post pics later of the updated stuff for you to see. _________________ ON DECK/IN THE WORKS: too many started to list...

here ya go Rob, and anyone else interested
decal sheet, featuring an ASCoC series sticker (even though it's Arctic Cat and not Ollie's)
them printed Hoosiers
updated wheels
new valve covers, beadlocks (!!!!) and oil tank
headers and airbox
new, taller front wing sideboards
proper nerf bars
seat and fuel injector stacks
body panels and rear of the seat support bars (without the molded in headrest)
welp, there it is... any questions about it, feel free to ask
the only things I would have liked to seen changed is removing the "Gambler" markings off the chassis parts and one more beadlock and 2 more mudplugs/wheel covers, whatever you wanna call them. _________________ ON DECK/IN THE WORKS: too many started to list...

Thanks for the great pics 18degrees. Looks like Revell made some very nice improvements. The beadlocks and side panels look especially good.
As I said earlier, I’m nearing completion of a previous issue, and I’m really impressed with the kit. It’s incredible that the tooling is 30+ years old. With the new parts, it looks as nice as any modern kit. I’ll be picking one up for sure! |
