This has an RMR Resin body that I started with. This car was built to replicate the older bodied cars that would've run the "OPEN COMP" class.It has been updated to basically run in todays Vintage Series. There is a whole slew of fab work done to this car. I think it would be easier to list them all in a list format....Thanks for looking in folks..
* Front half of the chassis.... Revell 36 ford kit
* Chassis back half is "Z'd" using evergreen plastic...
* Engine block..from the 57 Chevy made into a big block
* Headers are fabbed from solder...
* 3" removed from front grill...
* Rack & Pinion fabbed from Aluminum tube and rod.
and is pose-able.....
* All Nerf bars are evergreen rod...
* Fabbed all the coilover shocks...
* Fabbed the hood from evergreen sheet..
* Dash...Gauges fabbed from Evergreen sheet and rod..
* Gauge Bezels...Aluminum tubing....
* Roll Cage...Evergreen rod...
* Battery and Fire extinguisher..Evergreen Shapes and tube...
* Fuel Cell..Fabbed from E.G. Plastic sheet and tube...
* The front and rear Tires were mastered and and poured here in the shop..
* The wide 5 wheels were made here in house
* A/N fittings are Detail Master...
* Braided lines are Pro Tech..
* Decals are made here in house...
* Paint is...Primer-Alclad ........ The Dark Green-Duplicolor......The light(SASSY GRASS) Green...Scale finishes
Here are a few pics....

I’m confused. The header spacing indicates this is either a Ford engine, or a big block Chevy. But the valve covers don’t look like either one, and the distributor is at the rear of the engine indicating it’s a Chevy. What engine were you modeling?
Don’t get me wrong, this is an outstanding model. The fit, and finish, are both outstanding. The fabrication is spot on as well.

Olderndirt | I understand your confusion DIRT. I went by memory (or tried to) on all the build info. You made me stop and take a look at it again. It's a BB chevy. I took a parts 57 chevy engine and made into an OPEN COMP engine. The valve covers are custom made. Not Factory. Hope this clears the fog for ya... _________________ Short Track racing....Ya gotta love it.

No problem, Gary.....
Never get tired of seeing your builds!
Makes me wish I would have bought a couple of the old Monogram '31(?) stock Ford back when it was last re-issued....one to build (What! Me build a kit???? ) stock and one to create a modifed with that body..... |
