.
I spent my New Years Day doing these (by request). I still have work to do on them and size and test fit these. Time permitting, I'd have them ready by next week. I'm also waiting on a decal paper order so they probably be closer to two weeks out.

How do they look????

You made me look!
I have one in the display case but couldn't remember which year. It's the '88 which I built when they first released that body style in the double kit. That means I'll have to have the sheet for the '89.

I'm just waiting on an order of decal paper and these will be ready to print. The decals come with a white underlay sheet as well as the white on the main sheet so there should be no bleed thru issues. I'm hoping to have the paper sometime early next week.

I have 1 set of each of the DNL's, I begged Mark to make these sheets, the DNL's aren't that impressive to me and needed to be updated for the ones that weren't fortunate to build these stunning cars back in the day.

Back when I did the Stroh at DNL it was a very different time. We wholesaled most of what we manufactured and retail back then was $3!! So to make any money sheets had to be pretty basic. To make money at the wholesale price of around $1.50 was a challenge. Paper, printing, packaging all had to be done for around 75 cents!! Just an FYI.......
Mark's sheets will be fantastic to have....and fill a need. But Mark will tell you what we had to do for 75 cents is less than the paper alone today.

I wasn't implying anything Dave, I'm sure it was tougher back then to make quality decals at a cheap operating cost to make a profit. I was just saying the ones I have I didn't like, just my opinion. I wanted to redo my cars from years back and simply asked Mark if he could. I would rather use Mark's decals over anything else out there, again, just my opinion. There is nothing wrong with any decals that people make, it's just my preference and what works best for me. I think Powerslide puts out great detailed sheets.

No issue here!!!! Just a FYI....I'd like to have done more and better sheets.....but the market was $3 at the time and we relied on wholesale to make it. Thanks

One other side note on how things have changed........
We ran sheets in runs of 500 minimum and we ran that Stroh sheet 3 or 4 times!!!! try that today!!! Change the only constant.

I just wanted to clear something up, these are two completely different sheets that do two different cars. It's not one sheet that can do both year cars. One sheet for the 87 and one for the 89 car. There was no way to fit everything for both cars on one sheet. The only similarities between the cars/sheets are the numbers and Mark Martins name of the roof. Everything else is different from one sheet to the other.

I final sized both sheets and should be able to start printing these this Sunday. If anyone is interested in either or both sheets you can PM me. We are supposed to get some nasty weather and they are saying we may have power outages so... fingers crossed.

Mark

Finished my 1988 Stroh Bird tonight while watching Bond on TCM.
Decals are great! And thanks to Mark for adding tire decals...it helps.
Decals apply well, NO bleed with the 2 layers.
Well worth the price. After I apply some Furure I'll take some photos.

Where do you get your decal paper and is it for a laser printer?

I get it from Australia. Yes, it's laser paper. A little pricey with the shipping but it's the only paper that seems to work with my printer. Also good for Alps printers.

You should message Mark directly, not sure if he is still monitoring this thread.
