Hi all! I'm finally back, new username ,formerly bill collector,its good to be back.it was a bummer that site crashed and it took me this long to re-register.here is a question, can BMF chrome be cleared over by testors 1261 laquer? how about Tamaiya acryl clear? im worried that if I cear first ill mess up the clear while I handle the body putting on the foil. thanks for any help you can give. Tom. sorry bout the spelling been a while since I typed much!! |

I cleared BMF once a while back and the big thing I noticed was that the foil turned dull. More like a brushed finish rather than shiny. That was a while back.... _________________ Dennis

Tape around the area you are burnishing the foil on with painters masking tape. This will protect your clear coat, as long as you don't get to crazy with your burnishing. Of course this is after the clear has had plenty of time to dry. |

thanks for the replies fellas. Dennis, I did a test patch with Tamyia acrtl clear on a small piece of BMF and it did indeed turn it into a brushed aluminum look so ill be clearing first and foiling second. |

I've used Future over bare metal foil. It does not dull it or change the look of it at all.
