Dave, those were some pics that I took in '81 that I mailed to another member here to scan and put up as I didn't know how to post them. I think I have a duplicate set of them somewhere, I'll see if I can find them. I can't remember right now who it was I sent the photos to.

Dave, try as I might, I haven't been able to locate my additional pictures of M.C.'s shop. If you have any questions about the '81 or '82 season cars, PM me and I can probably answer them (probably).
If you are building the '81-'82 Buick, I completed one several months ago and I used a combination of the Powerslide 1983 Buddy Baker Valvoline T-Bird sheet (just for the red and blue stripes) a Fred Cady sheet for the #27s and various Valvoline decals from a Pengwen (Dave Van) sheet.
I will say though, if I do another one I'll definitely spray paint the red and blue stripes. While I was quite pleased with the outcome, I ended up leaving off the thin blue stripe that runs along the top of the rear window and ties the two side stripes together. The color fidelity of the blue is fine on the Powerslide sheet as opposed to the MUCH too dark Cady sheet but I think painting them would be easier and can be made to look even better.

Are these the ones you were looking for? If so, yes, I snagged them and still have them.

People ask about door seams, and when the factory door skins were replaced with formed sheetmetal. Well there's a partial answer, they were definitely still present on those cars! Latest I've seen identifiable factory door skins on a top team was probably '85 or '86 although NASCAR still required a skim of Bondo with a groove scribed into it to simulate a door seam for several years after that. |

Yep, when M.C. closed down at the end of '82, quite a few OEM panels from Critz Buick still in the boxes, were among the things that Beadle's people carted away.

Well, we have to have something to end the debate about what color of blue was on the back of that car. Photographic proof it was the very rare shade of blue referred to as black |
