So I'm wondering, why the NASCAR discussion page is locked?

When there was a discussion forum, disagreements became feuds and we were losing members. The bad vibes did not benefit the modeling related forums.

That makes sense. I've left other forums for very similar reasons. Thanks for the heads up guys.

I joined F/B 10 years or so ago, only because of one site I wanted to be a part of, as this party did not want to deal with message boards like this one. In part, I think it is the ease of posting pics on F/B....don't need an outside source like PhotoBucket, to name one.
There is a nice short track model site there as well.....Have never noticed any real issues from various posters there....
Have connected with people I've heard of, but have never met from certain racing orginizations, Have learned a lot about some of those that raced or otherwise involved .
But, I agree, F/B is not for everybody.....

Oh, I also joined the NASCAR group that used to be here......

I'm on Fakebook but it's not my style. Most model sites
now post images right off your computer, I go to ones and
just grab images off "My Pics". Beats ridiculous costs or if
free they always seem to have issues. Hoping this site can
someday go with that option.---John

The namesake for this place, Randy Ayers, was uncomfortable, as were us moderators and the administrator, with the constant bickering week in and week out. 'Your driver THIS', 'You (insert insult here)', etc.
It wasn't worth it for Mr Ayers to have his name attached to the continued fighting. We didn't want to lose model builders amongst the infighting, but a few were banned due to conduct. Some were just here to disturb others.
Time after time, we warned people about their conduct in the NASCAR Racing Discussion cell.
After much discourse between the board owner and administration, we CLOSED said cell.

We lost Steve Hmiel and Mike Beam from this site over the stuff people were posting in that section. Can you imagine the information these gentlemen could have provided model builders about specific cars...etc...and we lost that .

That's sad, what happened to Bill from N.C. I believe his screen name was maybe Mongo? I use to get lots of info from him on Fairlanes and Galaxies.
He was the nicest most helpful person I ever encountered. There also was someone that had something to do with "poppy red". This was a good 10 or better years ago, I also liked Jose's Mopars. Sad---John

That was Darkside Daddy, aka...Terry Anderson. He's on Facebook, doesn't visit here much often anymore.

"Mongo" was the Ancient Modeler, Bill Little. I think he is still with us but I do know he was having health problems and he rarely visits here anymore either.

Some of the others have passed on, and some left and never came back.

I think Jose moved to upstate N.Y. I believe not far from the little dirt track I use to go to as a teen.....Lebanon Valley Speedway in Lebanon N.Y. I lived just over "the mountain" in Massachusetts......not far at all......likethe dirt track and on Sundays the 1/4 mile drags!!!!!---John
