|
|
Hello everyone,
Frist let me apologize for the dumb question. I am planning on painting a few cars with different shades of silver, grey, black, pewter and some with two tone paint jobs. I use Tamiya paints and primers and would like to know which is the best color primer to use with these colors, white or grey? Will the color primer affect the top colors?
Thanks |

The primer color will definitely affect the top coat. I think the rule is light colors, white primer and dark colors, gray primer. I would use the gray primer under these colors that you mentioned.

For all those shades, grey will be just fine.
Its when you are paint yellow/ some blues/some greens and of course white is when you are going to want to use white primer. For red, a pink primer or pink base coat is better( less paint needed to get to red over using white ) |
