One car i have always liked and also a Big Mark Martin fan i decided to get into this one. So just the early steps of cleaning up the body and filling the sink marks and gaps.

Paint is done...This is Tamiya TS15 straight from the can, warm weather in Melbourne is making life much easier now. Inside the body was done with AS20. This can now sit for a few days and then i shall look at the decals...

paint looks flawless... what brand of decals are you going to use? I know of 4 different ones available, all of varying quality and contingencies. _________________ ON DECK/IN THE WORKS: too many started to list...

I used some pieced together Racescale sheets to make my pair. Got them from a member on here, IIRC. The sponsors were complete enough to use. I have another good sheet (not Racescale, Cady, or JNJ(?)) that i can’t remember who made them. Gonna build a 3rd one with the “Duralt” decals on it.
Is the Tamiya you chose a little light? Or is it lighting? All the pics i have, and the paint i used from MCW, look darker. Maybe it’s the lighting, the bottom pic looks darker.
Man, I wish Powerslide would do this sheet. _________________ ON DECK/IN THE WORKS: too many started to list...

It’s interesting with the colour, the pics I’ve seen online look dark, but ones I have in books and magazines look lighter. I asked Clay Kemp at one stage and he suggested TS15 |

To my eye, Stroh’s blue is closer to Valvoline blue from, say 1993. The TS15 looks to be closer to 1997 Valvoline blue, which was lighter.
And judging by the spelling of “colour”, you’re from Melbourne, Australia... not Florida like Hurricane Dave is.
Regardless, I cannot wait to see that car decaled up. _________________ ON DECK/IN THE WORKS: too many started to list...

Decals are done, this is my second time using Race Scale and the first one silvered on the BUD Truck so i was concerned, but these went on well, I am actually not going to clear this one and will just polish it up..
I am also happy with how the front and rear clips blended in with the body.

Seeing it is too cold to spray paint at present, i pulled this one out and got stuck into the chassis work. Just keeping this one simple and going OOB, no seat belts, window net still in place as i usually cut these out. Hope to wrap it up soon.
