Here's an update: The side mirrors are finished. The lower bars and the mirrors themselves came from a parts truck. The upper arms and door bar were fabbed from evergreen stock. The gap between the front grill and the body has also been filled. The slots in the firewall where the interior tabs are supposed to click into have been covered. Here's a look at what's been done...thanks for looking in folks....

The filled Gap....

The slots on the firewall and Mirrors....

Hey Ed...Thanks for the compliment...

Have started on the engine bay and engine...the interior is up after that. I worked on that interior bucket earlier and had to sand quite a bit of the inside of the cab to get that interior bucket to slide in with no hold ups. I'll post pics when I get a little farther along with it...

Here's an update...the body of the truck has been taped, primed and shot with color. It's a duplicolor met red. The undercarriage has been shot with satin black along with the chassis. The front grill along with the rear bumper was shot with ALSA Mirror Chrome. It took a little bit to get the hang of shooting it but I'm happy with the results. It's a little tougher than Alclad.

The camper has also been primed and I'll get to the main color(OFF White) with in the next few days.

Detail painting is up next along with a few touch-ups on the body. I'll let this GAS out for a few days and then rub it out a tad. Not to much though as this is a working road track. Kept clean but far from a show Truck. Here are a few pics for a look at where it's at...

The Primed camper....

Thank you Ed...it's getting there....

The engine is painted and mounted in the chassis. Plug wires will be run next. The front pulley system is drying and will be attached probably wed or thurs. The Body of the Camper was shot an OFF WHITE this morning. I won't mess with that for at least 3-4 days. I want it to completely GAS out before I handle it. The body is pretty much gassed out and that will be touched up in spots and then rubbed out a touch. Here are a few pics of the engine...Thanks for looking in folks.....

Thanks Jc and Cisco.

Cisco...the sprintcar will probably be done last..or should I say..next to last. it will be a curbside that's permanently loaded on the trailer. I decided to do the leather Cockpit cover too. Remember those? The Camper will gas out a few more days and then I will tape off for the red stripes. Then I'll either BMF All the trim( which I'm really leaning to ) as opposed to taping it all off and shooting it with Alclad.

Looking GOOD, Gary!!

Remember seeing some CRA teams in the early 1970's (1972 ->) using the cockpit covers.

Thank you Big ED!!!

Well...this truck is up on ALL 4s and ready for the camper. The tonnaeu cover is on there just for the update pics. The side mirrors and the rest of the chrome trim will be added last. The CB and Radio Antenna's are made and will be mounted then also. Here's a few pics of the interior and Truck.
The interior...

Really like this........great color
Not to mention it looks SHARP

but then, RED has been my favorite color for as long as I can remember...

Gee.....wonder if that could be one of the reasons for working for Avis for just shy of 29 years, (colors are red/white/gray), then there was the fire extinguisher service company in Orlando...trucks were red with white toppers (and of course RED fire extinguishers Laughing )
Then there was Target for a bit in Albuquerque.......more red....lol
And my old high school colors were red and white.....
Any wonder when I started following NASCAR via SCR in the late '60's, the #71 K&K Insurance car was a double favorite....not only the red painted car with white lettering, but the #71.....year of my graduation from HS.....!
But then, only ONE of my 9 GK sprints was painted red....go figure... idunno

Have a GREAT weekend my friend,....!!

Well...this part of the RACE TEAM is finished. Now...it's time to build the Sprint car and then the trailer. I think I'll probably be building both at the same time. Here are a few finished pics of the truck. The Sun peeked out from the clouds just long enough to get a few pics.

Gary,
Someone needs to take that shrink gun away from you where you can not continue shrinking 1:1 vehicles and posing them as models. Man that is over the top.

Hey Wade...thank you. I'm in the process of mastering the rear dirt tires for the Sprintcar. I'll pour them maybe next week. Once I get the tires and wheels done for it...it's build time for the sprint.

Hey Johnny...Me too...that's the inspiration behind this build. I think there's quite a few folks on here that can relate to seeing that.
