On the 1984 MCSS at Martinsville: 1. Did air hoses run from the lower nose opening to the front brakes? 2. A drive belt would run to the alternator, a belt to the oil pump and a belt to the water pump, am I missing anything? 3. The Monogram roll cage, is it totally correct, if not what needs to be changed? More questions I`m sure will be coming as I round up individual parts that I need for this build. Thanks, Howard, Radar43.

Yes, a short track MCSS in 1984 would have brake cooling hoses running from the front turn signal openings, and maybe an additional one from the right headlight opening to the right front brake. The driver's side headlight opening would also be open, with air ducted to the oil cooler. Some teams would have a sheet metal scoop or air duct hose on the driver's side windshield pillar, to bring cool air in to the driver.
The drive belt arrangement you described is accurate; don't forget the rear end oil cooler squirrel cage blower housing, behind the driver's seat. A rear end oil pump would be mounted on the driveshaft rear, where it meets the rear end pumpkin, with hoses leading to & from the cooler housing.

Brake heat was a huge problem there, and many creative approaches to deal with it were tried. I believe some teams were experimenting with small electric fans in the ducts, and multiple duct hoses to each wheel caliper/hub/rotor. Along with the other areas George mentioned already. Don't know how the Dark Siders did it, back then with drum brakes on all fours, no power steering, or brakes, no cool suits, and no trick heat shields to deal with the heat.

The Monogram GM chassis & roll cage are correct for the majority of 110" wb Cup cars from 1981 to 1989, with the exception of A - Pillar ( windshield post ) angles and length, which varied a bit for the Ford Thunderbird body. Lotsa differences up front however, with regards to front steer vs. rear steer, shock mounts & quantity, and radiator hoop and oil cooler / filter brackets.
