If you are building Blaneys Menards ride and need the paint, I have two options for you if you use a air brush

First is here
https://www.ebay.com/itm/House-Of-Kolor-Neon-Chartreuse-HE113/263445219971?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649

And 2nd is here, Jameston has Neon Chartreuse , and I can offer you 10% off your order.

If you have a hobby lobby nearby, I used createx fluorescent yellow acrylic through my airbrush over white primer, then PPG Omni 2 part clear. I took it with me to Charlotte to try and get it autographed this past weekend and it was a dead match to the car in Penske's race shop.

Would you mind offering your take on using Createx? I bought some of their paint. I have heard from some that it is a very difficult paint to use, so it sits on my workbench. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

THe last two times Blaney ran menards there was green tint to the paint( Talladega and Dover) this paint really changes the hue and look depending on what the lighting, under some lighting like inside a shop, its gonna look more yellow, but under natural lighting you are going to see the green tint to it.

But maybe the car in the shop was done strictly with out the neon part.

I think this is one that there may not be a right or wrong.

If this helps, here is a picture of the car as it ran at Kansas a few weeks ago.

Wow, that looks good... and a bright neon. The MCW “Menards Yellow” i used came out way more yellow than neon.

Maybe it's the lighting but that looks more green than a yellow to me. I could see myself doing this then spraying a light mist of sun yellow on top of that. You put down the paint really nice though, looks flawless. I'm not criticizing by any means just my worthless observation Laughing

The look/paint tone of that car changes depending on the lighting. Have seen it look bright yellow and neon chartreuse in different pictures.

I just took delivery of some Testors/Pactra polycarbonate Fluorescent Yelow. If the cap matches the paint, it looks like a great match.

Here it is with Krylon Neon Yellow and Tamiya Yellow cans.

UPDATE: Here it is - in natural light, next to Tamiya yellow for comparison. One mist coat, two wet coats, all 20 mins. apart. I think it looks perfect in person!

I'll let it gas out for a week and then clear coat. I'm thinking Testors or Tamiya lacquer clear should work. Can anybody confirm, based on experience? Thanks.

I will have to try that because the testors createfx yellow isn’t even close. Comes out like a dull pennzoil yellow.

Its the lighting, and that is the point of the paint , in some light its gonna look green, and in some light it will look yellow, and in some light something in between yellow and green.

Here are few more pics that show it looking more yellow

And here you can see it looks a bit different

Yep, wasted money on that one too, it has to be neon , not normal florescent.

Yea, that looks a lot better Martinfan. That's neat how the light can change a hue that much. Looks good bud.

White primer , it depends on what time , as I did a lot of stripping, but it was either Tamiya or Krylon white primer

Clear is Restoration Shop 2k clear.
