Has anyone used the new Mikes virmillion red decals for the Salvino Petty kits from Cardograph? I have the older ones and tried to use them with little success and saw that Mikes has new ones. Thanks for any help. _________________ On the bench:

The new ones are a bit less brittle than the first ones, but that being said fluorescent inks are not going to be as flexible as standard inks, so they still do require a bit of finesse to get right. A hairdryer and plenty of Solvaset helps, but there are just some shapes they won’t conform to.
My advice, especially if you’re building 1983-up Petty cars is to use the large, flat decal areas and paint the more complex areas. For example, on Richard’s 1983-1986 cars, I used the decals for the hood, roof and sides, and painted the rear of the car. That tv panel and rear bumper would have been a nightmare to decal |
