Greetings!
Here's my latest build of Bill Elliott's Buick Skylark #9 that he raced in the 1986 inaugural Giant Food 300 race at Road Atlanta in the Busch Grand National Series. He started on the outside pole and finished 11th. |

Fantastic build.
Those were the good days of that series if you ask me. Most of the time they didn't run "companion" races and went to smaller tracks and put on some great racing.
Where did you get the body and what did you do to make a Buick V6. |

That is a beautiful model. To be honest, never knew that Bill ran anything but a Ford until much later in his career. I miss the old Busch Grand National Series, but then I also miss the Cup Series when the teams built their own cars, bodies, etc. _________________ "Many men fish all their lives without knowing it is not the fish they are after." I modified a SMH Resins 75 Ventura Busch resin body on the nose and tail to replicate the Buick Skylark. Buick V6 engine out of the Opel GT kit by AMT. Buick valve covers from the Monogram Indy Car Series racer. |

Could you post a picture or two of the front end and what you did to convert it. |

Bob, excellent build. Paint, detailing under hood, decaling and cleanliness of build is all there. Thanks for posting it. |
