Piggie was before my time.
Retired from driving in 1958. Have never heard any good stories about the significance
of the monkey.
Called Piggie because of his sloppy eating habits at the dinner table. Apparently
he did not mind being called Piggie.
Ray Bennett (Piggie)
The car was aquired by the track owner (Pat Patrick), painted black & renumbered 16.
David Ezell drove the 16 cars for years and was the consistant winner at the speedway.
On a Saturday night at the speedway the end of the 86/16.
Piggie Bennett, Weldon Adams and Larry Flynn at the Jax Speedway, late 50's.
Car owner Guy Donald must have done some driving also. This looks like a 1960 era Grand National, but the wide tires would thinks it ran in later years as a Permatex car at Daytona. But then it has a screen on the front like dirt track cars.
