|
|
I've never given much thought to the cooler in the Monogram Thunderbird kits. I've got a 1988 T-bird on the bench and here I am contemplating on how to detail it. The instructions in this kit omit the cooler, but the mounting point is molded into the floor pan so I'm going to use it. Any way, do any of you have any detailing advise or photos that you could share?
Thank you,

I paint the main sections something like this. I just fake the lines and hoses with black and/or silver.

Buck Baker told a story of how he liked tomato Juice in the cooler in his car. He crashed hard and the cooler broke open. First guy on sight almost threw up thinking Buck had cut his head off after seeing the red all over the inside of the car.
Joe Weatherly put some spicy water in his cooler, he explained it as He took the car down the straightaways, but Lord Culvert took it through the turns.

Thanks for those Shepard. I always love hearing back storys from the history of the sport that are not commonly known. Thanks for sharing. |

I agree with MarkJ, thank you Shepard 327 for posting that. The driver's from the earlier era's had so much personality.Like Trickle and Pearson having cigarette lighters in their race cars so they could smoke. Who was the driver that raced with a monkey in car? First name was Jocko I think? _________________ "Many men fish all their lives without knowing it is not the fish they are after." Thank you Dennis O, I knew that there was a Jacko in the equation somewhere. _________________ "Many men fish all their lives without knowing it is not the fish they are after." Henry David Thoreau
